We love the idea of getting crafty over the festive season. Turn the heating on, get a cuppa and get stuck into a new project. Take a look at some of our Christmas crafts to get you inspired for December.
Simple Reindeer Food – We love the idea of making up our own reindeer food to leave out for Rudolph on Christmas Eve. You can make up your own recipes and we add a little bit of edible glitter to ours of course 😉 . We love this free printable from How To Home.
Hand-made Christmas Cards – This is such a fun idea, well in theory – don’t make it too stressful for yourself. We love these ready made decals you can stick on. We love pastel coloured cards at Christmas, definitely a change from the usual colours. Hobbycraft have really good tutorials on how to make Christmas cards.
Paper Plate Snowman – A great one for the kids. Stick two paper plates together and then they can decorate them however they like. We like the idea of using old wrapping paper for the scarf or the buttons and you could even use a real carrot for a nose.
Mason Jar Tea Light Holder – Or empty jar would make a perfect tea light holder for your Christmas table. We use some Mod Podge on the inside of the jar and then shake some glitter around the inside to create a glittery frosted look.
Gift Tags – You can make your own gift tags from something as simple as brown craft card and some glitter. We like cutting some card out in a Christmas tree shape, hole punching the corner and covering in gold glitter. Glitter Decorations – We got these MDF stars to dot around our Christmas Dinner table, we used our different metallic glitters to make them really sparkle. You could even use them as place settings.
Glittered Centrepieces – Get some MDF Letters, it could be your family name for a special touch and glitter them to place in the middle of your table, finish them off with a ribbon trim for a luxe touch.
Make your own Christmas Eve Plate – Kids love leaving Father Christmas a treat, it would be a really fun Christmas Eve craft with your little ones. You can buy lots of dishwasher safe pens, pair that with a plain white plate and you can create whatever design you like. We love this one from Lovingly Crafted
Salt Dough Ornaments – We love this idea, such a good keepsake to go on the tree for years to come. Get the kids to press their hands into your salt dough and cover in glitter like these ones from The Best Ideas For Kids.
Open glitter filled baubles – We love these open glass baubles from Hobbycraft, we have filled ours with bottle brush trees and our White Christmas Tinsel Glitter. You can fix the glitter down with glue but we have left ours loose for a freshly fallen snow effect.
